The followers of Jesus tried to prevent blind Bartemaeus from experiencing Jesus, but they were blindsided when He called this beggar to come to Him. In this sermon, we ask ourselves, "am I preventing others from coming to Jesus?" Let us be blindsided with the grace of Jesus, that offers healing to all - the least, lost, lonely, the broken, - to all!
This message isn't an easy one, based on Haggai Chapter 1, and notes from a sermon by John Wesley entitled "Scriptural Christianity", thus serving as a reminder to us that we are made for the purpose of serving and worshiping God and loving our neighbor. We weren't made to just exist. We were made to be used to spread the message of HOPE to the world. What are you doing to fulfill this call of the Christian? If you are doing nothing, then in the words of John Wesley, "What religion are you?"
